• Hi

For various reasons I have uninstalled Yop Poll. When it went to sent you the reason for deactivation I had a SMTP error:

    Receiver:
    [email protected]
    Subject:
    YOP Poll Deactivation Notification
    Message:
Message: I now use polls (occasionally) in my bbPress forum instead of the website and I am trying to reduce the installed plugins I have.
    Headers:
    From: WordPress Deactivation Notice <[email protected]>,\nContent-Type: text/plain
    Attachments:
    Error:

The problem is the fact that the email your plugin created used this from address:

From: WordPress Deactivation Notice <[email protected]>

That is not acceptable on my system where it has to be my proper email.

I just wanted you to know because you might have other deactivations that never get to you.

I have run a test on my SMTP setting and they work fine.

    Hello

    Thank you for your feedback.

We are using [email protected] as “From Email” because it’s against the rules to use the email address setup in wordpress.

Could you let us know if the plugin uninstalled correctly (beside the error you mentioned?)

    Hi

I think it worked OK. I see no folders remaining and no tables in the database. Having said that, I now notice there is still a “Yop Poll Archive” page on the site.

My domain provider does not permit you to use a fake “From” email address. It has to be a proper, domain approved, address (a.k.a the admin email of the WordPress site).
