    Hello Jeff,

Please check your file permission. It should be 755.

    Thanks

I have the same problem, but not being that IT Lit I found my hosts permissions page for the site, but there are hundreds of permissions some set at 640,664 and one at 750.
I have installed this plug in to help me delete a Gallery Plugin, which following an update has gone. When I download the plugin again it tells me the file still exists and to use FTP to remove the file first.
FTP, that’s the other side of the world.
So you write code like this to help people like me, but I can’t get your plugin to even start.

    Any help appreciated.

My problem is the same as Jeff’s. Your reply in that instance was to check the file permission and set it to 755. I opened the file permissions of the 123-Reg who Host the site, but the permissions list is endless, so I ask should I change them all to 755?

At the moment if I open file manager I get the same response as Jeff: Data is not JSON”

Do you want the site credentials or the host?

I am happy to provide either.

    Regards
    Graham.

    Hi Graham/viiix,

Could you please tell me which version of PHP are you using?

    Thanks

    Aihimel,
I have since spent some considerable time going through the help pages of 123 Reg and having found their File Manager for the my site. Going through all the files I got to understand what I was looking for. I have deleted the old Nextgen Folder, which allowed the update to load. So I have resolved my initial problem.
Thanks for taking the time to reply.

Of note the File Permission for File Manager is set at 755

I googled PHP to find Hypertext Preprocessor; which one am I using, I have no idea. I am a 61 yr old architect (and not the type who designs PC Platforms).

As my initial problem is now solved, I think we can close this thread.
    Thanks agian
