Error when Refunding an Order with Square

    Hello All,

    I am atempting to refund an order through WooCommerce using square. When I click the refund button I get a warning box with the text:

    “An error occurred while attempting to create the refund using the payment gateway API”

    The only information for this problem in the logs is a line that reads: “01-08-2020 @ 12:09:37 – Info: Begin refund for order 10665 for the amount of 4.00”

    Any idea what is happening and how to fix it? The initial order was processed through Square and charged correctly.

  • Hi there! Are there any fatal errors that occurred on that time and date? That would be the first place to check. You can find those in the same place as the Square logs (WooCommerce > Status > Logs in your dashboard).
