I am new to word press, but the installation seemed okay and I can access the backend, see the blog and write posts. However, I am getting the following error when trying to upload a jpeg. Here is the error that appears in the “Add an image” dialog box:

Warning: imagejpeg(): Unable to access /home/www/alexandriamauck/blog/wp-content/840-3sm-150×144.jpg in /home/www/alexandriamauck/blog/wp-includes/media.php on line 381

Also, when uploading a gif it is uploading to the directory /wp-content but it seem the posts wants to call it from the sub directoyr /wp-content/uploads if I manually move the gif file to this directory it shows in the posts, but I need it to work for my client with just direct upload.

    Thanks in advance.

  • Hi

In Settings/Miscellaneous in the Admin section is a field in which you set the upload file folder.

Thanks so much… that did fix the gif directory issue, but I am still getting the error for jpeg:

Warning: imagejpeg(): Invalid filename ‘/home/www/alexandriamauck/blog/wp-content/uploads/img_0203-150×150.jpg’ in /home/www/alexandriamauck/blog/wp-includes/media.php on line 381

Its somewhat strange because now the jpeg does upload to the gallery and I can get it inserted but I am very concerned about this error and wondering what to do.

I am getting this error off and on while uploading images onto the site, sometimes it works seamlessly for a while then this happens.. “…permission denied wp-includes/media.php line 381…”
I went to that file and found that it had it’s permissions set at 644 so I set it at 755, I hope that will fix it.
Has anyone else seen this happen? the host we are using is Blacksun Canadian Web Hosting, this is the host that my client was already with. I know they use Virtual hosting… I do not know if it is a hosting error or a WordPress error. I would appreciate any input.
Also the Auto upgrade does not work, we are using Version 2.8.4
    The PHP is version 5+
    Thank you.
