Error when I try activate

Hello,
I went to update the plugin and deactivated it first. Then updated, and now when I try to activate it it gives this error:
Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home/content/c/o/n/conniewilson/html/sites/xmascats/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/download-manager.php on line 12
It was working perfectly before the update.
How can this be fixed?
