Hi, we use your plugin in several sites, zero problem…. in this new site we just open, we have a strange message when we enter in your plugin configuration:

    Ha ocurrido un error inesperado. {
    “readyState”: 4,
    “responseText”: “0”,
    “status”: 400,
    “statusText”: “error”
    }

and when we try to send a test email we get a Ajax error.

Because we need to send message, we now installed another SMTP, but as we want use yours, we wanted to notify toy this strange behavior.

    Thank you very much!

Hi! where can i find it?
    thanks
    Angelo

    Hi @angelolazzari,

If you head into your WordPress admin dashboard and then: Post SMTP > Post SMTP then under the heading Troubleshooting select Diagnostic Test.

That should then take you to a page with the log to copy and paste into the forum.

    Thank you!

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

    Hi Angelo,

Sorry I didn’t quite understand your last reply. That isn’t quite right, your diagnostic log should look something like this (example from another support thread).

    Kind Regards,

Hi Tim, I understand but, I think the plugin cannot generate the log due to the error… no?

    Thanks
    Angelo

    Hi Angelo,

I’m not sure where you are seeing the error you sent me? Can you try and generate the log – or does it appear on that page?

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

Hi Tim, thank you for your patience!!! Here is a short video about what happen to me, thanks https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cybfrgxg1Yc

    Angelo

    Hi @angelolazzari,

Thanks for the video – that is a big help. It looks like there is some kind of weird Ajax problem here. It may not be related, but someone had an Ajax problem on the forum a few days ago and discovered that a WordPress core file was missing. Can you just check the below file is present? It’s part of the WordPress core, so should be there.
    /wp-admin/includes/ajax-actions.php

Could you perhaps also try updating WordPress to 5.6?

    Kind Regards,
    Tim

Hi Tim, I found the problem: W3C cache plugin… if I disable it, your SMTP plugin works perfectly, now I have to find the time to find which setting of W3C invoke the problem… i think minimization of JS…. but I have to test it…

    thanks!
    Angelo

    Hi Angelo,

Thanks for the feedback. Please let us know the outcome of your testing.

    Kind Regards,
    Tim
