I am using the MC4WP form. If I have MC4WP double opt-in enabled and someone unsubscribes, the form allows them to resubscribe without a problem. But if I disable double opt-in through the plugin, then they can only resubscribe through their email. (They get the “oops, something went wrong. Try again later message.”)

I see forum comments stating that it’s a Mailchimp problem, but it doesn’t seem like it could be since it depends on MC4WP’s double opt-in settings.

The problem is, if someone tried to resubscribe right away, then obviously they could do it through the email. BUT if time passed and they couldn’t find the resubscribe email or they deleted the email, then they wouldn’t have the option to resubscribe anymore.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hey @edaghfal,

This is a restriction set by MailChimp so there is really not much we can do about it. You can see the error returned by MailChimp in the logs of our plugin on the “MC4WP > Others” page.

Thank you for the quick response. But can you explain why resubscribing through the form isn’t a problem with MC4WP’s double opt-in in place?

I can’t comment as to why MailChimp has certain policies in place. For more information about that I recommend to contact MailChimp support directly.
