In the “Media” > “Add new” screen on the bulk edit area, I’m trying to add a new term for a custom taxonomy I registered. When I do this, I get a JS debug error of

    mla.mlaList.settings.context.selector is undefined
    https://siteurl/plugins/media-library-assistant/js/mla-add-term-scripts.min.js?ver=2.98 line 1

And I cannot proceed to select the new term – it doesn’t appear in the list. The “add new term” button is also disabled, so I can’t add a different term, and it doesn’t re-enable after I delete the new term I entered in the field.

Nice plugin overall, by the way

Thanks for the positive feedback on the plugin and for your report.

The “add term” problem is caused by MLA’s using an obsolete jQuery function that was removed in a recent update. I have fixed that defect and uploaded a new MLA Development Version dated 20211116 that contains the corrected code. You can find step-by-step instructions for using the Development Version in this earlier topic:

PHP Warning on media upload with Polylang

Once the Development Version is installed you can open the Media/Add New Bulk Edit area and test the fix. You must do a “hard refresh” in your browser to ensure that the updated JavaScript functions are used, since I do not change the version number in the Development Version.

The updated code will be part of my next MLA version, but in the interim it would be great if you could install the Development Version and the example plugin and let me know if they work for you. Thanks for alerting me to this defect.

Thanks for the fix! It may be a while until I can get to testing this in the new development version

I just tested on development version 20220121, and that resolved this bug for me. Thanks!

I have released MLA version 2.99, which contains the fixes developed for this topic.

I am leaving the topic Resolved, but please update it if there are any remaining issues to investigate and address. Thanks for working with me on this topic.
