Error when activating plugin on local server

    I just installed the PDF Embedder plugin (v4.6.4).
    When I activated it I received an error message indicating ‘plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error‘.
    I then deactivated it and reactivated it again.
    Alas, I still received the same ‘fatal error’ message.
    However, much to my surprise and delight, the associated widget to insert a PDF (from the media library) in a post using Guetenberg) seemed to work flawlessly.
    Any thoughts or suggestions for troubleshooting?
