Error when activating plugin

Hello, I’m trying to install and activate the Woocommerce plugin on my website. After installing I click on “Activate”, but when I do this I immediately get a blanco page. At this point I’m also not able to return to the WordPress Dashboard. I have to delete the Woocommerce files from my server first, before being able to access the WordPress Dashboard again. When I’m back on the dashboard it says:
“The plugin woocommerce/woocommerce.php has been deactivated due to an error: Plugin file does not exist.”
Any ideas on this one? Thanks..
