error – We could not verify the the security token

  • Hi support team,

    not sure if this has to do with the update, but getting this error displayed:
    We could not verify the the security token. Please try again.

    I am trying to accept the policy but then nothing happens and after a while the info is displayed.

    Do you have any security or caching plugins in place?
    Are you blocking access to the wp-admin folder in any way? Redirects? Password protection?

    it’s possible some autoptimize (re-)configuration (probably for the JS optimization) might be needed to fix this. there’s more info in the troubleshooting tips and info on exclusions in the AO FAQ.

    This cookie thing is a WordPress issue. It’s weird. If I delete the auth cookie I am still able to navigate the dashboard but on the front-end, it appears as if I were logged out. That messes up how WP generates nonces (security tokens) and will cause an issue.
