I downloaded & activated the plugin, but when I go to the Dashboard and click the “Get started with Jetpack Protect” button, I continuously get “! An error occurred. Please try again.” Is there a system issue?

    Hi there,

Could you please try to remove the Jetpack Protect plugin from the site, then reinstall and activate it?

If the issue is still there, could you please share the site address here?

    Hi there,

Unfortunately, we have received an unusual amount of requests, which is delaying the response time, and we generally answer in the order received.

I checked the site on our system, and it is not appearing here, which means the site was not connected to Jetpack Protect at the moment because of the error.

I know it’s less than ideal, but could you please try the following:

Temporarily deactivate all the site’s plugins except for Jetpack Protect and clear your browser’s cache. Then try activating the Jetpack Protect plugin again. If it works, then we’ll know that another plugin is conflicting here. You can re-enable your plugins one by one, trying activating Jetpack Protect plugin in between, until you find the one causing the conflict.

If disabling plugins doesn’t help, it may be the theme. Temporarily switch your theme to a WordPress default theme like Twenty Twenty. Then try activating the Jetpack Protect plugin again. If it works, then you know it’s a problem with the theme.

Let me know how it went!
