Hoping someone can save the day as our WooCommerce store is scheduled goes live tomorrow (April 28) at 8:30 AM and I’m having a problem with Ultimate Auction. Deactivating other plugins did not fix it. When you click “Place Bid,” you get this error: “There has been a critical error on this website.” The bid does get placed, but obviously this is a serious problem for the user.

Here’s what appears in the log:

    2021-04-28T03:32:52+00:00 CRITICAL syntax error, unexpected ”ultimate-woocommerce-auction” (T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING), expecting ‘)’ in /home/amherstg/public_html/wp-content/themes/storefront/woocommerce/emails/placed-bid.php on line 21

Hoping someone can help me! Thank you.

  • Hello,

The link you shared is password protected. So we can’t test it. you are using storefront theme into your site. Auction plugin work properly with storefront theme without any errors. You have overridden auction plugin’s file via storefront theme(auction plugin -> templates -> woocommerce -> email -> place-bid.php). You have edited this file or added a custom code. There is no error in the code of auction plugin. There is an error in the following file according to the error log.

    /home/amherstg/public_html/wp-content/themes/storefront/woocommerce/emails/placed-bid.php

Please check file code and correct errors as per logs. (bracket is missing in place-bid.php file in theme folder.)

    Thank You
