Hi there, my hosting provider told me I should contact WordPress about this issue as it is apparently an issue with WordPress but I’m not sure.

I have tried to upload my local site to the remote site via Filezilla, it’s currently situated locally on my comp. The host told me to select the files within my website folder (which include: wp admin, wp includes and wp content folders and some other random files which are not in folders) and transfer them into the public html folder in the remote site through Filezilla. I already installed wp via Fantastico.

It now says ‘Error establishing database connection’ – although I am connected fine. My domain name is https://www.onefineworld.com

    Many thanks in advance.

    Jac

You need to edit wp-config.php file and update database name, username and password to match your new database which is created in your host.

Make sure you have set up a database, database user attached to that specific database, and assigned the user ALL privileges.

Hi there, I’m back again! Still not live..

I have matched the database name, user name and password as assigned all privileges which has got me somewhere (thank you) but now my site is just showing the default wordpress theme.. not the site I have already developed locally using MAMP.

I have uploaded my site in Filezilla under Public_html folder and am connected to the host fine. I have transferred all my wordpress website files across these files include:

    -wp_admin folder
    -wp_content folder
    -wp_includes folder
and other random files that aren’t in folders.

Now I don’t know what I’m doing wrong.

I have been emailing my host but I’m really not sure if they know what’s going on. I’m volunteering in Cambodia at the moment so it costs way too much to call them.

Thought you might be able to pick up what I am doing wrong, think it has something to do with the file structure?

Thanks in advance for your support.

    Cheers

Did you exported all your local database tables and import them in your hosting account? Because wordpress saves all settings and content in database.

    Hi Elan,

Thanks no I didn’t do this. I am slowly piecing this puzzle together!

Are these instructions ok to use?

    Many thanks for your help.
