Error updating Woocommerce on Wamp local install

    Hi,

    I use WAMP for local site testing. I have Woocommerce 4.2.0 running on WAMP v3.2.0 with php 7.4.0

    When I try to update Woocommerce to 4.5.0 or 4.6.0 I get this error

    ?Update Failed: There has been a critical error on your website. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.Learn more about debugging in WordPress.

    There’s nothing in the admin mailbox. Has anyone else solved this issue?

    Hi there!

    Do you see any errors under WP Admin > WooCommerce > Status > Logs > Select – Latest Fatal Error Log under drop-down (right side) > Click – View button?

    Along with that, could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status.
    Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    Hey again!

    I think that error is the root cause. Basically your server ran out of time to run the commands it needs to run to update.

    Here’s a guide I found in searching online for changing your max execution time. This might help, or you might want to look for your own guide to changing the max execution time for your server. https://www.yourictmagazine.com/howtos/859-howto-increase-maximum-execution-time-in-xampp-wamp.html
