    I am experiencing an error when updating Woocommerce (This is just affecting Woocommerce, not other plugins).

    I am receiving the below error. I have already adjusted the permissions to 755.

    An error occurred while updating WooCommerce: Could not copy file. woocommerce/packages/woocommerce-blocks/assets/js/blocks/single-product/save.js

    To take a better look, please provide the following:

    * A copy of your site’s System Status: You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

    * Error Log: Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

    The file permission 755 means the default permissions are -rwxr-xr-x,

    i.e. 7=rwx 5=r-x 5=r-x,
    r= read.
    w= write.
    x= execution.

    Thanks for the information.

    You can open the folder that is in wp-content/plugins (through FTP or CPanel file browser) then rename it to something like old_woocommerce, after that, reinstall WooCommerce.

    Let us know how it goes.

    Hi Igor,

    Once I rename the file in the FTP server to ‘old_woocommerce’.

    How can I reinstall the plugin? Do I have to deactivate and delete the original plugin and then reinstall? Will this not delete any files associated with the plugin?

    How can I reinstall the plugin?

    You can simply download WooCommerce from this link and extract/upload the woocommerce folder to /wp-content/plugins/ directory on the server.

    Hi,

    I followed the steps noted;

    1. Deactictaed WooCommerce.
    2. renamed the WooCommerce plugin to woocommerce-old.
    3. Deleted the Woocommerce plugin.
    4. Tried Reinstalling the Woocommerce plugin.

    I have now received an error:

    Installation failed: Could not copy file. woocommerce/vendor/symfony/css-selector/Tests/Parser/Shortcut/EmptyStringParserTest.php

    Other plugins install and update fine it’s just WooCommerce. All file permissions are also set to 755.

    I would appreciate any help where possible. Thanks.
