    Hi,

Since yesterday I get this error:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception 'wfWAFStorageFileException' with message 'Unable to verify temporary file contents for atomic writing.' in /var/www/vh73394/1/mywebsite.nl/voedingsschema/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/storage/file.php:30 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/vh73394/1/mywebsite.nl/voedingsschema/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/storage/file.php(497): wfWAFStorageFile::atomicFilePutContents('/var/www/vh7339...', '<?php exit('Acc...') #1 [internal function]: wfWAFStorageFile->saveConfig() #2 {main} thrown in /var/www/vh73394/1/mywebsite.nl/voedingsschema/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/vendor/wordfence/wf-waf/src/lib/storage/file.php on line 30

Due to this error I’am unable to log in to my WP backend. I’m forced to de-activate Wordfence bij renaming the folders by FTP. Does it has something to do with folder/file permissions?

I hope someone can help me out.

    Thank you.

  • Hi bmaas93,
Are you still running into this issue even with the latest Wordfence version?
I suggest connecting to your website via FTP and rename this folder (/wp-content/wflogs) to something else, let’s say “wflogs-backup”, then re-check this issue, if everything went well, you will need to re-configure the firewall again.

Let me know how it goes,
    Thanks.

I renamed the folder and it cleared the error message that bmaas93 was getting.

Not sure what to do at this point? reinstall the plugin?

Mmm I’m not sure anymore how I fixed this error… sorry.

    Hi @lduong333,
You will need to either re-save the firewall settings page or re-configure the firewall again in case you still have this warning message at the top of WordPress admin page:
“To make your site as secure as possible, take a moment to setup the Wordfence Web Application Firewall.”

    Thanks.

Just want to throw some helpful information in here! We actually just got this error on the login screen when we were out of space. It was driving me crazy because I was trying to log in, but it just kept redirecting. I followed the instructions on here to rename the wflogs folder and my server gave me a warning that it was out of space so it couldn’t rename it. Once I had cleared up some space, the error went away and I was able to log in without a problem.
