Error: unable to load signatures

What is written in the /wp-content/nfwlog/malscan.log logfile? Can you paste it here?

Don’t know what the /wp-content/nfwlog/malscan.log is.

It is the anti-malware log. You can download it over FTP and open it with any text editor.

Don’t know how to use FTP.

It looks like your PHP interpreter is timing out.

Can you try to create a PHP script named “test.php” and add this code to it:

Upload it to your WordPress root folder (see https://youtu.be/3a5kRk552lA @ 1m20s), run it (i.e., go to https://YOUR_BLOG/test.php ) and paste the result here?

You can do that with any text editor: simply paste the above code and save it as “test.php”. Make sure to save it as plain text, no formatting.

I have the same problem. I can not update malware rules.

PHP timeout is 30 sec, but I get error mesage after 10 sec.

When I look in debug console, there are some ajax request ending with 404:
to /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php (but file exists). This ajax request has parameter malscan=1

This is new installation of ninja firewall plugin.
