I was running YouTube Channel Gallery very happily with working APIs, using working playlist IDs but now am getting this message:

Error type: “Forbidden”. Error message: “Daily Limit Exceeded” Domain: “usageLimits”. Reason: “dailyLimitExceeded”. Location type: “”. Location: “”.
Check in YouTube if the id <this is where playlist ID is> belongs to a playlist. Check the FAQ of the plugin or send error messages to support.

The playlist ID is a valid YouTube playlist. Can you help me sort this out please?

    Many thanks! Bruce

  • I’m getting a similar error after updating to wordpress 4.2.4, the youtube feed and keys are still valid, we are using Youtube Channel Gallery 2.3.2:

Error type: “Bad Request”. Error message: “Bad Request” Domain: “usageLimits”. Reason: “keyInvalid”.

Did you added your own Google API key? Look at the help.

    Many thanks in advance!

    Show me your shortcode

    [Youtube_Channel_Gallery feed="playlist" user="PLbHSJB2kEh7lGpNykp0wS7nqF0_j0orvF" videowidth="580" ratio="16x9" theme="light" color="white" autoplay="0" rel="0" showinfo="0" maxitems="16" thumb_width="240" thumb_ratio="16x9" thumb_columns_ld="4" title="1" description="1" promotion="0" pagination_show="0" description_words_number="6" link="0"]

You need to put your own api key. Look out this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=67D4v3Vjmyo

Thank you soooo much! Works like a charm.

I get the error message ‘Forbidden’ etc as per my previous post.

I’m using YouTube Channel Gallery within PageBuilder so the shortcode is produced automatically by the widget that the plugin produces for that. It treats each film within the playlist separately and doesn’t show the API or Playlist ID that i’ve entered into the relevant fields. Sample shortcode is:

    <h6 class="ytctitle">
    <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBjWozQuIlk" title="SHINE 2004 Reception film">SHINE 2004 Reception film</a></h6>
    <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTW7CB_mQS4" title="SHINE main film, 2004">

It seems that the plug-in works fine, until it doesn’t, then it comes back again without me doing anything, then goes, etc. How can I make it work the whole time? Any help would be much appreciatede

Many thanks & kind regards, Bruce

I have the same issue. I’m not sure if PageBuilder and YouTube Channel Gallery don’t get along or what. It does seem to sporadically work sometimes and not others. It currently is working (for the most part) on some of my pages, but editing a new page and I’m getting the error message again.

    Hi chased702

Did you create your own Google API key? See the help:

    Hi Poselab,
I still get the same issue as chased702 and did get a Google API as per your help page. Most of the time it works ok but at certain times of day (first thing in morning UK time) I get the error message ‘Daily Limit exceeded’. I’m not using YouTube Channel Gallery in a side widget as part of PageBuilder widget but rather as an integral part of the main page.
Also worth noting that my site hasn’t yet launched, so virtually nobody is looking at it, plus it’s taking a playlist that incorporates only films unlisted on YouTube, so it’s highly unlikely that any daily limit is actually being exceeded. Would appreciate your help. Many thanks.

    Hi mrbrucerobinson

Send me the following information to my email ([email protected]) and we will talk by email:

    • api key
    • if you have your website uploaded to the server, send me a url
    • and if your site is only accessible to registered users, send me a login and password as a subscriber
    • send me the shortcode that you are using
    • screenshot of Google developers console where you have your api key

Yes, I have my own API. It seems that many of the errors have spontaneously corrected themselves after 24 hours. However, I do notice that some will again spontaneously show errors.

Now it’s doing it again, just on certain pages and not others.

https://freemeded.org/biochemistry/ and several others are down, while some like https://freemeded.org/home-2/beyond-basic-science/ are working fine. This is really killing my potential traffic. Pages are down more often than not, and due to the seeming randomness of it I can’t keep track.

Error type: “Forbidden”. Error message: “The request cannot be completed because you have exceeded your quota.” Domain: “youtube.quota”. Reason: “quotaExceeded”.

Did you added your own Google API key? Look at the help.

Check in YouTube if the id PLezrE0Ume1TppzhJtEoe2__sqFFMOJvzN belongs to a playlist. Check the FAQ of the plugin or send error messages to support.

    Hi chased702

If you have your own API key, check in https://console.developers.google.com if you have exceeded your quota. You have to make a great use of youtube from your site to exceed your quota but it is possible. If this is your case, you should activate the cache of the plugin or pay to Google to increase your quota. You can check the use of your youtube api quota in https://console.developers.google.com. In menu go to
APIs & auth > APIs > YouTube Data API >tabs Usage and Quotas

Thank you for the descriptive directions.

It shows that I have all of my available usage
    Free quota
    50,000,000 units/day
    Remaining
    50,000,000 units/day
    100% of total

Apparently I’m getting even less traffic now than I thought. I’m sure many of the students using my site previously have been turned away by the pages not working consistently. As it doesn’t seem to be that, and it also appears to be on certain playlists, but not others. What else could it be? Why would it read that its a quota issue when there has been no usage?

I think I read before that this plugin and Visual Editor (Black Studio TinyMCE Widget) or Page Builder (SiteOrigin) seem to have conflicts. Including YouTube Channel Gallery, those are pretty much the 3 plugins that run my site.

Hi there, this was working fine then all of a sudden the other day I got this error:

Error type: "Forbidden". Error message: "There is a per-IP or per-Referer restriction configured on your API key and the request does not match these restrictions. Please use the Google Developers Console to update your API key configuration if request from this IP or referer should be allowed." Domain: "usageLimits". Reason: "ipRefererBlocked".

Did you added your own Google API key? Look at the help.

Check in YouTube if the id thebadjokethatended belongs to a username. Check the FAQ of the plugin or send error messages to support.

And ideas on why this might be happening? I have recently added an ssl certificate to the site, could this be part of the problem?

    cheers

    Harry
