Error trying to open text block editor

  • I have a problem editing the pages. Every time I try to edit a block of text the following JS error occurs:

    TypeError: l.select2 is not a function

    It seems to be an incompatibility error with Woocommerce (I have disabled all the plugins and the error only occurs when I re-activate Woocommerce).

    Hi @ingenyus, what theme are you using? I’m not able to see any issue with WooCommerce active so I wonder if it might be related to the theme instead.

    Also, you said you were editing Pages, is that correct? Just want to make sure that it’s pages and not products you are editing.

    Next, when you say open text block, do you mean an actual block in the block editor or are you referring to a Text Editor module in Beaver Builder?

    Lastly, can you go to Site Health (Tools > Site Health > Info) and let me know what version of PHP you are using?

    Hi @codente,

    The theme i’m ussing is Icelander (actually a child theme of it). I’m going to check if the issue is responsible but in the meantime here is the information you asked for:

    • It happens on all beaver builder pages (not products, archives, single-posts, etc).
    • When i say “open text block”, i mean a Text Editor module in Beaver Builder.

    Since we don’t have a way to test that theme due to it being premium, please do proceed with a test with all plugins except BB Lite and WooCommerce disabled including disabling Really Simple SSL and using a default theme and let us know the results of that.

    Your site URLs showing up as undefined is interesting. I’m not sure what could cause that but I’ll see if I can figure that out or find that out as it could potentially be related.

    FYI: It’s against the rules to mention creating a user or for us to ask you to create a user here in the forums so please don’t do that.

    If you’re worried about disabling things on your site..

    If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to deactivate all plugins and change the theme for you while you’re still logged in without affecting normal visitors to your site.

    Then, you could check Site Info again and see if these values still show as undefined.

    Next, you can go into troubleshooting mode and enable BB Lite and WooCommerce and see if the issue with the Text Editor module is still there.
