First, thank you so much for reading. I’ve posted this to the badgeOS plugin support forum, but it seems to be a ghost town over there, so I’m hoping someone can help me out as I’m a novice at this stuff.

    https://www.simsportsglobal.com

Whenever someone, including the admin, posts something to the website, after a few minutes, this error appears in place of the story:

    triggered badgeos_new_post

This appears after I post a story, after a few minutes, the link will eventually lead you to just a page with that info and the author.

You can see an example of the issue here: https://simsportsglobal.com/ssgprofootball/nfc-south-trade-wr-willie-snead-goes-to-carolina/

I thought it was a permalink issue, but it seems to be connected to the BadgeOS plugin. Even after removing BadgeOS, this continues to be an issue.

    Please help! Please! ??

  • Try de-activating permalinks and accessing the page from the backend:

Pages -> Edit Page -> View Page.

    Does that work?

Also try renaming .htacess -> .htaccess_BAK and checking again.

I’ve posted this to the badgeOS plugin support forum, but it seems to be a ghost town over there,

A review of this plugin’s page indicates:

    Last updated: 11 months ago

    Tested up to: 4.5.9

It seems as the author has stopped maintaining this plugin.

It’s quite possible this plugin is not compatible with 4.8

You may want to consider searching for replacement.

I will try the fixes mentioned above in the morning. I’ve completely removed this plugin, deleted etc., but it seems to be causing us issues still!

So the response above (and quoted below) seems to have at least fixed the issue. I set permalinks back to default, and the story now works. However, I’d prefer not to use this permalink setup. Is it possible to have this work without needing to go default permalink structure?

Should I still now try the second suggestion?

“Try de-activating permalinks and accessing the page from the backend:

This appears to be an internal redirection issue with WordPress.

It creates permalinks for pages – each page has an id but when permalinks are on, it sets and redirects everything to that page name.

It appears that there is an internal permalink redirect loop.

I am not 100% sure if it works but now you’ve deactivated permalinks, you should be able to turn them back on and it should hopefully work.

Otherwise, a quick Google found this: https://typerocket.com/flushing-permalinks-in-wordpress/ which says it should flush permalinks

Yes, resetting it seems to have worked. What’s weird though, I was just using a custom permalink structure, and it seems only one user who actually posted a story was having an issue.

Oh well, not worth fretting over–it’s working, so thank you! ??
