• I am finding that just about every other time I go to this site or any links within it, I am getting an error. You refresh and it works. The errors are either a 500 browser error or a WP error saying “The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions.”. That email never shows. Not in spam trap. I have been through turning on and off each plugin and nothing works so far. I have searched these forums and the internet as best I could without finding a clue. Closest thing I have seen was a similar description and someone saying it is a Version 5.2.2 issue but nut having a solution. Happens site wide, front and back end. Thank you very much in advanced for assistance.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • WP 5.2 introduced the Recovery Mode, which is for the admin to recover from an error that would previously have caused a White Screen of Death.
The message to an admin user is to check the admin email for a link to log in and initiate Recovery Mode, which means the plugin or theme causing the error is paused so that the admin is accessible.
However, there are a few cases that the email is not sent, and my opinion is that is when the error is in WordPress itself, due to environmental factors such as a memory limit, a PHP version conflict, a timeout. (infinite loop can cause memory exhaustion or timeout) (some hosts have updated PHP without telling the admin)

So to find out the problem, look at the host error logs. If you don’t have one, turn on DEBUG, so something will be output.

If it’s happening on the backend (admin) side, too, then I would perhaps contact your hosting provider to see if there’s anything going on with the server where your site is located. Let them know you’re getting the sporadic 500 errors.

Bad thing is that I AM my hosting provider. WHM and CPanel on Godaddy.

It is not the WSOD. Had that on another site and picked out the offending plugin.

The error occurs when surfing through the site and a page refresh brings the page up. Happens a little less than 50% of the time. Please see 4seasfisheries.com to see what I mean. If a page doesn’t work, hit F5 then it will.

    Any ideas?

Do you have any caching going on?
