    Good morning, I installed wordpress on an ubuntu server locally on a microsoft network to make an intranet in the company, I installed “LDAP/AD Login for Intranet” and validated it and passed all the tests in the plugin, but when I logged in I got gives error “ERROR: There was an error registering your account. Please try again.” that when entering with a domain user, the error indicates that the user cannot be registered… can someone please help me

    I have the same problem. WP 6.2.2 and Active Directory Integration for Intranet Sites plugin v 4.1.6.
    This item is solved by I can’t see the solution.

    “Test authentification ” in Ldap configuration is OK

    You could be facing this issue in case you have special characters in your LDAP username or a user with the same email exist already.

    Could you please let us know which LDAP username attribute you are using and does it contain any special character(s). Also, please confirm if there is any user already registered with the same email.

    I finally tried with one colleague account and it’s working, but not with mine… Always the same mistake.
    I use “uid”.
    The only account registed is “admin”, nothing else. Plus the one of my colleague now.
    I made an ldapsearch to extract all the information we have in our Ldap for me and my colleague (I changed his name) . I can’t see any special character or any problem.
    Do you have any idea ?

    Thanks for providing with detailed information.

    The usernames you shared seems to be fine, although can you verify that the admin account in WP doesn’t have the same email as yours in the LDAP server.

    Also, may I know which Directory Server type you have selected in the LDAP configuration; this could be a compatibility issue as well.

    Can you verify the above and also try to change the username to email from the user mapping section and try test connection and WP login. Refer this screenshot.

    You gave me the solution !
    Admin (me) account had my email address…
    I read on documentations that you can’t add an existing account but i never saw the restriction about email address which can’t be the same, may be I missed it.
