Hi, I made a brand new wordpress installation with woocommerce and flatsome theme (all current versions). There are no other than the flatsome required plugins installed. At the woocommerce main admin page I get an error: “There was an error getting your inbox. Please try again.” How can I fix that?

  • i had the same problem but reading acwporg‘s comment i understood it’s a security conflict, in my case it was a plugin named Loginizer?that caused the error
anyone facing this try inspecting which security feature giving you this nightmare

    Hey @holylight,

Thanks for sharing what caused the issue on your end, this may be helpful for others experiencing the same issue, looking for the culprit.

    Cheers!

    Hello Devs
am sorry to follow up that the same problem occurred again
this time on a fresh wordpress install and fresh woocommerce
i’ll try this on my localhost (tried some free hostings they had same problem too) as i suspect it to be a hosting provider problem cause woocommerce acts weirdly in addition to this issue the issue of the setup wizard show up and couldn’t click on any button or link kick in too
they act like a demo links or demo buttons with no functionality
so i go back to softaculous delete and reinstall fresh again sometimes the wizard problem get’s solved but the couldn’t connect /reload/get inbox….. issues appear and persist
anything i can do to be of help?
    Thank you, Cheers.

    Hello Guys,

Spent months with this problem (tickets with Woocommerce, long e-mails, sharing logs, talking to my hosting provider, so much effort). After a while I created a new subdomain (you should be able to do this from your webhosting provider’s controll center or from your cpanel) and installed a fresh WordPress with a fresh Woocommerce on it. Nothing else, no other plugins. Still, it showed me the error message. Then, sometimes it worked, however, other times I got the error message.

Somebody wrote that maybe my hosting service (the provider of the space where you install WordPress) is not ‘good’ enough. I upgraded my service at the hosting provider. Surprisingly the situation got better, however, still I got the error message quite often. And, if there are problems with Woo before even starting to setup my store, how would I dare to start investing my time and resources into start building my store? More problems may occur later..

So, at that point I tried the whole thing on my other domain which was sitting with a different provider (with a slightly more expensive package). I created a subdomain there, installed Wocommerce, and, surprise, everything worked well, no error message at all! So relieved, I am.

I hope this helps for you folks.

By the way, at the moment I am migrating my whole domain (the one I want to build the store on) to this other, apparently better, provider. It is said that practically no disruption should be experienced due to the migration, should be done within 24 hours with some documentation, and there is no need to even contact the previous provider. Please note that I cannot guarantee for you that you can do this so seemlessly with your provider as written here. This is rather some kind of encouragement to contact the new, desired provider and get guidance how to do the migration. Good luck!
