Error: “There has been a critical error on this website. “

  • I received the “There has been a critical error…” message today as I attempted to edit my website. I contacted our webhost and they claim it’s an issue with a plugin, but could not help me, and I can no longer access my website as an admin. Any advice assistance would be appreciated.

  • Your plugins/theme could be conflicted or your site could be hacked.
    Enter your site via FTP (probably you hoster knows how or has ome tutorials), and when you have access: rename the plugins folder to (for example) plugins-out; then check your site. If it’s back up, you can rename to plugins folder to the right on; and activate the plugin one by one
