So this is my first WP page, and although I am relatively lost I am making decent progress. I am unable to see/upload/activate/access my themes on my dashboard – when in the dashboard home page i see this message:

“ERROR: The themes directory is either empty or doesn’t exist. Please check your installation.”.

And when I go to Appearance > Themes – i see this message:

    “Available Themes
You only have one theme installed right now. Live a little! You can choose from over 1,000 free themes in the www.remarpro.com Theme Directory at any time: just click on the Install Themes tab above.”

It says that my current theme is twentytwelve, other than that the appearances menu is pretty much blank. When searching through my FTP (Filezilla), I notice that the two original themes are in the appropraite folder (/wp-content/themes) plus my downloaded theme. So it shows three themes plus the index.php file.

I am using WP 3.5.1. I have tried to provide as much info as possible, hopefully someone can help, if you would like anymore info lemme know!

    Cheers

SOLVED: Contacted my host and they were able to tell me what I did wrong….eventually. Turns out I was accessing my site through user account that i had setup in my cPanel. Using the default username provided me access to the entire site, not just one folder/directory. After browsing through the material in the real user account, it turns out the wp-content folder was names wp-content-????, so i just renamed the folder back to wp-content and re-uploaded my theme in the proper place and it all works. almost lol. hope this helps someone!

    Cheers
