Error: The username and password provided were not accepted

    I’m getting “getemails: The username and password provided were not accepted for the IMAP server imap.gmail.com on port 993. Array” every time.
    Tried POP3, IMAP, gmail, yahoo and outlook accounts. I checked configuration, tried it many times and they all return the username and password were not accepted error.

    What can I do?

    You might try checking with your web hosting company to see if they block outbound connections on post 993.

    Hello Wayne, thanks a lot. Unfortunately the guys at WPEngine tell don’t block those ports. I suspected that because when I deliberately introduced a typo in the mail server address the error was different, it logically returned that the server was not found.

    Also tried deactivating the other plugins.

    Would it help if I send you the check mail script debug info or make you an admin user?

    For WpEngine try switching “Connection” to cURL.
