• Hi, when I enter the default login-page of wordpress I see suddenly the error ‘Error: The indicated user could not be found.’ This happens without having anything entred.
Not sure what causes this – how can I investigate this deeper?

  • You were working with the author of the security plugin you’re using here, but you’ve opened another thread.

I’ll recommend you respond to that thread and continue to work with the plugin’s author.

If you believe this is unrelated to the security plugin but is a core WordPress issue, please confirm here if you’ve disabled the security plugin completely (and you’ve removed any .htaccess blocking rules it may have created and left behind) but you’re still seeing the error message.

I think it wasn’t related to Cerber. Cerber was just doing the job – thinking there was a login-attempt without credentials – which blocked than the IP…

The admin ‘Error: The indicated user could not be found.’, when opening the login-path, lead to this. Not sure why wordpress is thinking I’ve already entered credentials. Its a bit worrying.

Hello did you find a solution? I have the same exact problem and I’ve never used WP Cerber Security, Anti-spam & Malware Scan.

I had to remove Cerber unfortunately at the end. No one was able to help me with this issue unfortunately – the cerber eraser plugin helped me to get back things working

Thanks, the problem for me is that I never used Cerber.. If I find a solution I will post it here.
