Error submitting form

  • On our website we have the Event Creation Form here – https://www.mndassociation.org/getting-support/local-support/events/event-creation/

    However in the last couple of weeks we’ve experienced an error. When a user submits the form, instead of getting a thank you message, the form goes back to the top of the page and highlights an error in the Location Name box which says “You cannot edit saved locations here. Reset this form to create a location or search again.”

    It would appear from the front end, that the form hasn’t been submitted, but in the backend they still arrive and are awaiting approval.

    Any help on resolving this problem would be appreciated!

    can I know if you enable option under Events > Settings > General > Event Submission Form > Show form again ?

    It was set as ‘No’ when I posted the question, but I was doing some further testing yesterday and currently have it set as ‘Yes’. It doesn’t appear to have made any difference.

    I received your test submission in the backend, Angelo, but I am assuming you didn’t get any thank you message when you pressed submit?

    It’s possible this is a conflict caused by your theme or another plugin. To check if it is, can you test with all other plugins deactivated and while running the default WordPress theme?

    As the site is live, it’s not possible to deactivate all plugins and run the default WordPress theme.

    Weirdly the plugin works fine on our staging environment.

    I’m going to try rolling back to a previous version and see if that makes any difference.

    It’s worth checking for differences in settings, templates, etc. between the live and staging site.

    That’s been done, and all is exactly the same.

    The rolling back to a previous version didn’t make any difference either.

    I’ve tried to look into exactly where the submit button is going to when a user presses it, but unfortunately my php knowledge is virtually non-existent so didn’t have much luck.

    It feels like I’ve exhausted every avenue and getting no where! ??
