Error saving settings trial API key

I would really like to fully try this pulgin so I registered and created a trial API key. Everytime I try to save the setting whe entered the key and credential info I get a popup with just the message ERROR. No further explanation.
I have checked the credentials multiple time and copy pasted the key, so there should be nothing wrong there, but still I cannot save these settins.
