Error Saving Settings – Stripe Payment Settings

Howdy @codewhiz,

1) WordPress / WooCommerce menu item / Settings / Payments / Click [Manage] button to the right of Stripe – Credit Card (Stripe) option.

2) Change anything or nothing
3) Click Save Changes

Get message that says “Error Saving Changes”

I can only imagine how frustrating this must be for you!

Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.? Once you’ve done that, paste it here in your response.

The next step would be to determine if this issue is caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.

The best way to determine this is to:

• Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
• Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
• Repeat the action that is causing the problem

If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

I installed and activated the StoreFront theme by Automattic.
I disabled all of the plugins except for WooCommerce and the WooCommerce Stripe Payment Gateway

And the issue was the same.

One note… When I work with the site, simple clicking any item in the store, generates an error shown at the top of the screen.

You can duplicate this by going to https://www.almabq.com/product/coyote-mist/

I have the same problem.

If i go there:
WordPress / WooCommerce menu item / Settings / Payments / Click [Manage] button to the right of Stripe – Credit Card (Stripe) option.

It tells me:
– “Error retrieving settings.”
– “Error retrieving account data.”

If i try to save anything it tells me:
– “Error saving settings.”

In the front-end on my product page i get this in the console:
kwift.CHROME.js:3 [Report Only] Refused to compile or instantiate WebAssembly module because ‘unsafe-eval’ is not an allowed source of script in the following Content Security Policy directive: “script-src https://m.stripe.network ‘sha256-Qj6AdMOUjZkBBUTjGW/OORBoqx2Pohcq8Bg/ZvZzgYw='”.

@codewhiz, this deprecation notice might be the reason why you cannot save your settings.

Search for ‘wc_stripe_hide_payment_request_on_product_page’ in your theme ‘functions.php’ file and remove the filter from this hook, since it was deprecated. You can configure the payment settings button locations in the plugin settings page.

I’m going there now

For me I had 2 issues. A new plugin I installed contained a reference to:

wc_stripe_hide_payment_request_on_product_page

The reason I couldn’t save was silly — I just didn’t completely fill out the form.
