Error running wordpress import plugin

  • Hi, I’m trying to use the wordpress import plugin to move over my pages and posts from my old website, but when I click to activate the plugin I get a fatal error:-

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WXR_Parser in /var/www/web/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-importer/parsers.php on line 12
    I have had this working once, but got in a mess with the theme template, so decided to start again and re-install wordpress to give me a blank canvass.
    Hope someone can help please?
