Error: Required Meta Tag Missing?

  • Hello
    I put my image thru the card validator for twitter and this is what I get back:

    Log
    INFO: Page fetched successfully
    INFO: 30 metatags were found
    INFO: twitter:card = summary_large_image tag found
    ERROR: Required meta tag missing (twitter:description)
    Card URL

    I have it set to large summary card, the photo is not more than a mg and it is 512 x 350. Any suggestions on why it is having an error, it is also not appearing at Twitter with a article’s photo.

    Strange. I can see the “missing” meta tag in question being generated in your source as expected:

    <meta name='twitter:card' content='summary' />

<meta name='twitter:description' content='Mastodon, Clovis Hunters, American Mastodon, Mastodont, Pleistocene Period, Prehistoric Elephants' />
<meta name='twitter:image' content='https://ourworldspast.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/05/1280px-Mammut_americanum-e1431920201931.jpg' />
<meta name='twitter:url' concept='https://ourworldspast.com/mastodons-the-earliest-known-elephant/' />

    The site Knowem also reports your twitter card description meta tag as expected. Please allow me some time to look into this further. There is a possibility this bug is on twitters side.

    Thank you, I would appreciate that. I really like this plugin and I’ve had it up for awhile, it was working fine when I first put it up, so not sure what happened. I do know Twitter has been making some changes so it could very well be on their end. I’m not in a rush, I’m still growing my site and working on it.
