    Hello,
    When a new user attempts to register on my site with the nationality “United States”, they receive the error “state required” and are unable to register. If they select any other nationality then they are able to register successfully.

    Is this a bug with this plugin? Please see the screenshot error here:

    In our basic theme the state selector exists for the united states, are you sure it is not overridden by a front en component?

    So when selecting “Nationality”, if you choose the United States…. you also must indicate the “State”?

    Hi, I turned off all of my plugins except for Woocommerce and the Mangopay plugin. Here is what happens now when I try to register a new account with the “nationality” United States.

    I also changed my theme to twenty twenty. No other country selections request a state also.

    Any suggestions?

    Hi, I think I found the problem.

    If the user selects their nationality as United States, but their country (of residence) as Netherlands then no “state” field appears. As many of my users will be expats they will have this condition and not be able to register.

    However, If the user selects their nationality as US AND their country (of residence) as the US, then the “state” field DOES appear.

    Can the plugin be fixed so that a new account can be created with the condition: Nationality “united states” AND Country “netherlands”?

    A US nationality does not require a state, the nationality will not ask for a state. This is true for all countries.
    Only country/region will ask for a state as this is where the user is based, hence it can be in a particular state in the US.
    We hence cannot change this.

    This is not resolved.

    If he user selects nationality US and country/region Netherlands (or other country) you are right that there is no field that asks for “state”. However, when you submit this information, you receive an error that says “state required.”

    There is a bug.Can you please test this condition?

    New account…. nationality US, country/region Netherlands. Are you able to create an account when you test this or do you also get the error “state required.” I understand that in theory this should not happen, but there is a bug.
