    Hi, on a shared hosting of a client of mine I can’t activate the Firewall : “Error reading Wordfence Firewall config data, configuration file could be corrupted or inaccessible. Path: /home/XXX/public_html/wp-content/wflogs/config.php Click here to rebuild the configuration file.”
    I clicked on that link several times, it doesn’t work. Is it better to completely remove and reinstall Wordfence, or do you suggest something else?

    I think something is broken on that hosting, maybe it’s infected, because I tried to deeply scan it and it gaves me a few red alerts but I couldn’t complete the scan.

  • Hi webby!
    You could first try to just delete the /wflogs/ golder in wp-content. Hopefully that fixes the error. If it doesn’t check he Wordfence Diagnostics page to see if Wordfence can write to the directories it needs to.

    Keep us posted!

    Hi wfasa, I can’t delete that folder, I got an “over quota” error! Even if I try to delete 1 file only. But this is really odd, as I could delete other folders, and even a theme.
    Still I cannot update any plugin via WordPress admin interface cause of “Could not create directory”.

    This is the diagnostic:
    ===================================================================
    Checking if web server can read from ~/plugins/wordfence/tmp OK
    Checking if web server can write to ~/plugins/wordfence/tmp OK
    Checking if web server can write to ~/wp-content/wfcache We could not write to the file /home/XXX/public_html/wp-content/wfcache/test.php when testing if the cache directory is writable. The error was: file_put_contents(): Only 0 of 4 bytes written, possibly out of free disk space
    ===================================================================

    Ok webby, so have you checked if you are out of disk space? Both of those error messages indicate that you are out of disk space.

    If it was really out of disk space, I think it wouldn’t delete any file; instead, I did delete a theme, and other files (so some space was freed), but I still get that error when I try do delete whatever inside “wflogs” folder.
    I’ve asked to my client to open a ticket with his hoster. I’ll let you know.

    @wfasa : Hi, now it’s working, after deleting some backups and a lot of unuseful files created by some OS X sync software.

    Great webby, thanks for checking back in!
