• Resolved abstraction

I cannot seem to make this plugin work as it should. For a few months ago, all files were being smushed. With the recent updates to the plugin, I looked through my media pages to check if it is working accordingly. It appears that something is stopping it from working.

It loads for 60 seconds (as set in the settings) and I get the “Error posting to Smush.it” error.

How can I go about to troubleshoot this? Have anyone else experienced the same issue? Surely there must be a way to resolve this, it would be a shame to not use this otherwise excellent performance plugin.

I’m having the exact same error plus a couple more. FUN!

    Not.

Me too am getting the same error after updating the plugin to the latest version.

the developer of the plugin is not where to be found… this is the problem they should fix immediately.

Hello there. The plugin is currently being rebuilt.
Until that is finished I would suggest you use a previous version.
To do so you can simply go here and download version 1.6.2 until this issue is resolved.

    Thanks!

@aristath – So why was a broken plugin update pushed through only to be rebuilt?

Thanks aristath, appreicate you picking this project up!

The problem is caused by line #330:
    $data = FALSE;
    this line should be removed.

The author apparently forgot to remove his test code, guess we’re all humans right?

    Hey @shan & @marius84

I guess you don’t realise the fact is we’re picking up development this plugin, we haven’t made any releases yet.

So we’ve not pushed any release, and we’ve not put online a broken plugin either. The original developer had planed on discontinuing this plugin, we’re simply taking it over and will continue to develop and maintain it to ensure a prosperous future ??

Thanks @justforyoastseo for your understanding with this, we really appreciate this! ??

@ingmarverheij Thanks for that, we have this plugin assigned to a developer in our team and I will pass your feedback along to them.

Thanks everyone, hope you all have a great weekend.

thank you @timothy for you reply.
hope the new relase will be awesome,
    good luck!

I deleted line 330, same problem
I deleted the plugin, installed an earlier version 1.5, same problem.
Happy to see someone is spending his/her valuable time to maintain this free plugin. Can’t wait for the fix. Thanks guys.

Hey all, pushed a quick fix to remove that debug code. Should fix at least the glaring error for now. We’re still working on a major rewrite though for release soon.

Thanks for your patience during the transition to the WPMU DEV team!

@timothy Bowers – No, I wasn’t aware that you were taking over for someone else, so sorry about that.

Hopefully you can fix what’s broken.

Just to note that the update that was just released appeared to have resolved this issue for me.

Can you gentlemen please inform us more about this rewrite? What are you guys target and will you be introducing any new features?
