• “Error: PHP is not running
WordPress requires that your web server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP installed, or PHP is turned off.”

It’s my first time using WordPress and also myphpadmin (I never used data bases before). Searching the web I could solve all my problems until now… I AM ABLE to open on myphpadmin and the data base I’ve created through my host. But the data base is empty, do I have to create tables? And what does that mean…? When I open the site and go to wp_install, this message appears:

    “Error: PHP is not running
WordPress requires that your web server is running PHP. Your server does not have PHP installed, or PHP is turned off.”

My host has PHP 5. I’m just completly lost here… HELP, please!!!
    And thanks!!!

  • You need to contact your hosts for assistance.

    Thanks Esmi,
I’ve tried to contact them, but they can’t help. I really do think that the problem is sitting right in front of the notebook…
I haven’t checked privileges for user, I don’t know how to use myphpadmin. Searching for tutorials about it, I could not find an answer for such a specific question as mine… Also not on the forum, or Codex… I’m pretty lost here.
    Can someone help me, please?

    Hi Fernanda,

There isn’t much you can do in this instance other than contact your host. PHP needs to be running on the server for WordPress to work. This isn’t an issue you can probably resolve by yourself without talking to your hosting provider.

    I hope this helps!

    Thanks!
