• I keep getting taken to a blank page titled “WordPress-Error” every time I try to perform the search and replace.

Any suggestions as to why this could be happening?

    Hi there!

Better Search Replace Team here, Thanks for reaching out with your query we would be happy to assist

This seems to be the first time we encountered this issue. Could you please <u>enable WP debug</u> and try again. Hopefully the /wp-content/debug.log file will have more info about the issue. Kindly take a screenshot of the error as well.

As always, please make sure to create a database backup before running a search and replace.

I did the <u>enable WP debug</u>?thing but am still experiencing the exact same problem. Is it posisble to attach a screenshot here?

Also how do I access the /wp-content/debug.log file? I can’t find it in my FTP client.

    Hello @dreamsrealised22,

Enabling WP debug will only help us get more info about the error you’re getting. If /wp-content/debug.log/ file isn’t created after trying another search and replace, kindly ask your hosting for any error logs available on the server.

You may attach the screenshot to your next reply. If that’s not possible, a link to the screenshot is also okay.

We look forward to your response!

Here is a link to the error page I am seeing when I try to perform a search and replace: https://snipboard.io/HI73J6.jpg

The /wp-content/debug.log/ file was not created when I tried again, so I have asled my hosting provider for error logs available on the server.

    Hi @dreamsrealised22 ,

Thanks for the screenshot. A weird thing about that is it’s displaying the admin-post.php page, but Better Search Replace is run from tools.php.

While you wait for the debug.log file from your hosting provider, have you also tried re-installing the plugin to see if it helps?

I tried re-installing the plugin, but am experiencing the exact same problems.

My hosting provider want to know if it’s just PHP related error logs you require?

Ok I have located the PHP related error logs on my server. Can you please provide me with an email address to send the file to?

    Hi @dreamsrealised22 ,

    Thanks for the updates!

Yes, we just need to PHP error logs for now so we can further investigate the issue.

Kindly send the error log here, you may use something like WeTransfer and then paste the link here. If there are any sensitive info on the error log, please make sure to remove those before sending it here.

We look forward to your response.

    HI @dreamsrealised22 ,

Unfortunately, that looks like a link to a file on your computer. Please try using WeTransfer to send us a zipped file of the debug.log file and paste the link here. Please remove any sensitive information before uploading it, or you can also just send us the part where a Fatal error occurs near the time you performed a search/replace.

Here is the WeTransfer link:- https://we.tl/t-lcpvdjJkQI

Please have a look and let me know if you can identify what is causing the issue. Thanks!

    Hi @dreamsrealised22,

Thank you for sending that in! While we saw some errors related to Bluehost WP Plugin and Elementor, we didn’t find anything related to BSR.

Can you please check your browser’s debugging console to see if there are any errors reported when this occurs?

The guide is for our other plugin, but should still work for Better Search Replace.
