The plugin uses boolval() function which came with PHP 5.5. Your server is most likely using a PHP version prior to 5.5.

yes, like a charm! Thanks. I forgot that this site was still on my old hosting which had not been updated to PHP 7.1 yet.

I will be adding the fix to the next version of the plugin for backward compatibility so that such errors do not happen on any server.
