• Hi,

Whenever I do a backup, I upload it to remote storage. I used to use Dropbox, but have just moved to Google Drive. I always get the error “No reason phrase” a while after starting the upload. The file is then usually there (but not always), and checks out just fine, but it’s not very reassuring. This happens with both Google Drive and Dropbox.

Is there anything that I might be doing wrong? According to your video at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXUVPUVgG8k it should say “Done!” but it never has in all my years of using this plugin.

  • This could indicate a timeout on sending the file, do you have any other errors within your XCloner logs from it’s Dashboard?

It doesn’t looks like it. I get the following at the end of the log, implying everything was fine:

    [2020-01-21 16:35:51] xcloner_remote_storage.INFO: Creating the Google Drive remote storage connection [""] []
[2020-01-21 16:35:51] xcloner_remote_storage.INFO: Using target folder with ID 1eOfejbCIesOIsSSxjGe9fvJRnKKLcmAK on the remote storage [] []
    [2020-01-21 16:35:51] xcloner_remote_storage.INFO: Transferring backup backup_www.hamishmb.com-2020-01-21_16-32-sql-78b54.tgz to remote storage GDRIVE [""] []
    [2020-01-21 16:38:17] xcloner_remote_storage.INFO: Upload done, disconnecting from remote storage GDRIVE [] []

It seems all was fine, so I’m not sure why the error came up.

It seems the issue might be caused by a browser timeout execution of the script that uploads the backup to the remote storage, are you able to check with your hosting support if you are allowed to increase the execution time?

I suspect this issue would not be appear in the scheduled mode if setup properly through a server cron scheduler.

Sounds plausible, I’ll contact my web host.

Seems to work every time now, even though the error appears, so whatever the problem was it seems to have gone away now.
