    Greetings,

The plugin was working great for a few weeks. I am using the Maxmind GeoIP Lite City database. This weekend it stopped pulling any info other than the IP address. When I try the manual IP lookup under tools I get the message:

The function $record = geoip_detect2_get_info_from_ip(‘ 72.5.190.135’, NULL, TRUE); returns an object:
    Lookup duration: 1.65046 s

No reader was found. Check if the configuration is complete and correct.

Any ideas what may be causing this? I see the database is scheduled to update on Aug. 5. Will that alleviate the issue?

    Thank you for your time.

Sounds interesting, as if the database file was deleted but not re-downloaded. What do the other two fields say?

    Database file: wp-content/uploads/GeoLite2-Country.mmdb
    Last updated: (Date)

Does the specified file exist? Is it readable (file permissions)?

Then, try a manual update. Go to the options page and click “Update now” – this should fix it. But I wonder what went wrong in the first place, maybe the cron script that was supposed to update the db aborted at some point.

The manual update fixed it. Not sure what was wrong in the first place. Before I did the manual update it showed “Last updated: never” but I believe I had updated it previously. If I come across the same issue again I will let you know. For now, we are fixed!

Thanks Benjamin. This is the second time you have been super quick to help. Much appreciated. ??
