error msg: “you must select a category”

  • I am unable to publish or even edit any Post. I can save as a draft but not Publish. Clicking on “Publish” or “Update” returns the error

    you must select a category

    This is so, even though I do have multiple categories defined and assigned.

    Suggestions, please?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
