When I rename images in the WordPress library I get an error message.

The renaming works but every time I do it I get this error message: “File renaming error! Tryed to rename…”

the typo was in the error message. I quoted it so you might know better where this comes from.

The renaming works, but it triggers this message which is confusing as it gives you the impression that something is not right.

I have the REal MEdia Library, but even when I disable this plugin the error message appears.

    Hi @archimedes389,
thank you for reporting the issue, I’ll try to figure out the cause as soon as possible.

Can you tell me which other plugins are you using? I’ll need to recreate the same configuration on my development server to reproduce the issue (hoping that the issue is not related to your hosting).

I have Phoenix rename – which is a great plugin – installed on two sites. One has Woo Commerce on it. And there the error message appears.

The other site does not have Woo Commerce on it and I did a rename just a few hours ago and there was no error message.

So I assume that the error message stems from an interaction between Phoenix rename and Woo Commerce and its sub-apps like Shipping and Tax. I do not have the Facebook, Mailchimp or Google ad words sub-apps on that site – those were deleted.
I just have Woo Commerce, Shipping and Tax, but no other.

The site that shows the error message also has Jetpack installed, the site that doesn’t show the error has not.

Woocommerce and Jetpack have not been used so far except for creating an item page and the shop page.

I hope this helps figuring out the culprit.

I use Phoenix Media Rename with Woocommerce con many sites and I never had any problem, maybe your hosting is involved in the issue.

The typo has been extremely useful, there is only one row of code that contains that error ??

It seems that the call to php “rename” function returns false, even if the file has been renamed, can you tell me which hosting are you using? It seems a problem related to your server configuration.
