• I was successfully using the form with no problems until updating WP.
    From what I’ve read, the orange means it’s marked as SPAM. And I can’t get to the bottom of what’s going on.
    I am not using any cache plugins.
    I am running Akismet (of course! – besides I’ve never heard of a plugin having problems with Akismet) I turned it off to test the form again, and I still get the orange boxed error.
    I am also using reCAPTHCHA, could any of that be an issue?
    Any thoughts/help? I so would appreciate!

    I’ve been working with the server admin, but I still can’t figure out why I’m getting the orange box “spam” error when I test the contact form.

    Do you get the same error, what could cause this?

    I couldn’t access the site. No response from it.

    Strange, I wonder if it went down for a while – I can access. Could you try again?
    So it looks like it has something to do with the reCaptcha. I took out the tag for it in the form, and get a successful send.
    I place the [recaptcha] into the form, and I get the orange box error.

    I went under Integration and put in my site key and secret key.
    Is there another step I’ve missed?
    Do I have to insert the <script src=’https://www.google.com/recaptcha/api.js’></script&gt;

    Thank you so much for your help

    No. Literally no response. It has nothing to do with reCAPTCHA. Maybe firewall is working somewhere.

    I’m having the same issue. If I have the recaptcha on the form, sending gives me the orange border message. If I don’t use recaptcha, sending gives me a “success” message.

    Website is https://www.efthaliaauthor.com/contact/

    I found a workaround — hopefully temporary — but wanted to alert you.

    I installed the BWP (Better WordPress) Recaptcha plugin and it works without the error.

    I swapped back to the CF7 integration and the issue returned, which makes me think there’s something not working quite right with that.

    @takayuki Miyoshi,

    I use reCAPTCHA and then I get an error. I turned off reCAPTCHA and now all my forms works!

    So there is a problem in reCAPTCHA! Can you check and resolve this problem?

    I have the same exact problem with mine – when CF7 recaptcha is on, I get the orange border “spam” error message. When it’s turned off, no issues sending mail. Will try another plugin for recaptcha in the mean time and see if that works.

    Update: just turned off the integration reCaptcha with CF7, and switched to BWP recaptcha plugin, and now it is working. I agree with @dawnrae, seems there is definitely a problem with the integration CF7 recaptcha.
