Error Message when trying to Update Plugin

    Whenever I attempt to install the latest update to this plugin, I get a Maintenance message reading: “Briefly unavailable for scheduled maintenance. Check back in a minute.”
    When it does this, my entire site goes down and displays this message. I also cannot access my admin. While I contacted our host and they looked into it, they could find no issues within my server.
    Please reply as we are a news site and are currently down.
    We have done regular updates to wordpress and so, should be the latest version, but cannot access admin or page to verify.
