Error message when installing plugins or themes

    Hello,

    when ever I try to install a Plugin or Theme I get the following Error message and also on a brand new Install that I just did and opened. Which eliminates the possibilities of me screwing something up.

    RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: error:0D0890A1:asn1 encoding routines:ASN1_verify:unknown message digest algorithm

    if any one has any sort of answer or information about this I would greatly appreciate it.

    In short your web hosting need to update some software, you need to talk to them.

    Hi Ross,

    Thank you for the information and advice. I kind of thought so as in the last several months we have been having trouble with the Website and had to do a clean install in order to proof that.
    As the hosting provider kept constantly telling us that this was our problem, or something with the coding in WordPress obviously not. Now having done this it clearly puts things in to perspective it’s not just us or WordPress but the problem lies with them.
    I’ll get right on it.
