• Ok so I had a blog setup at https://www.wowprojex.com and I somehow got a virus at one of my other sites that isn’t even linked to WordPress at all. I downloaded the files off my FTP for this other site so that they would get on my computer and I could scan for viruses.

Somehow when I go to my blog site now, I’m getting an error message. I’m thinking I somehow messed something up when I downloaded these other files so I could scan them. I tried to reload all my wowprojex files and it still didn’t work. I then tried to delete everything off the server to reload them and now I’m getting error messages just when trying to load the files back onto my FTP client.

    My question is:

    1. How do I fix this problem so my blog is back online?
    2. Did I mess this up beyond repair and now everything is gone?

I’m hoping that all my blog posts and images and what not are saved to my folder because I did download it to my computer before I deleted everything from the FTP server.

If someone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thank you.

  • 500 error means configuration problem. Check your .htaccess file and make sure there is no bad code in it. Also, if suPHP enabled on your hosting server then check the permissions of files and folders. the maximum permissions for folder should be 755 and it is 644 for files.

Also, check the error logs of your web site. You will get the root cause of this problem from your web site’s error log.
