When I clicked on detect current location, it showed a message “Something went wrong while trying to detect your location. Click on the location icon in the address bar and allow our website to detect your location”. So I had to go on my mac privacy settings and enable the location on safari so after that it was working fine. But I have a E-commerce site and I can’t expect my customers to know about it? Is there any solution?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

My website is on maintenance mode so I don’t think the page will be visible

This might not happen to your customers unless they have chosen to prevent your website from knowing their location, you might have done that at some point which is why you got that message.

You can try on another computer/browser and see that it will work fine, but if a customer has decided to prevent your website from knowing their location, then they’d need to allow it, which is what the alert message is saying.

I tried on android phone and windows and it was working fine but on mac and iOS it is showing that error message. I am worried because on my IOS phone I have used apps where they have asked me to detect my current location and I have never faced such error message.

Hi, on my iPhone and Macbook the plugin works perfectly fine on test websites where I’ve installed it on. The plugin makes use of the browser’s ability to know the location of a customer, but the customer needs to allow the website to get that information, which is why the prompt shoes up for the customer to allow or deny.

If a customer denies the request from the website, then at a later time if they try to again visit your checkout and use the map, it will show the message about the plugin not being able to find the location because the customer previously denied the website from knowing their location. So they need to give the site access to knowing their location.

This is how the plugin works. The user/customer needs to give your website access to their location. You can put a note on your cart page informing customers to allow your website access to their location once they get to the checkout page.

You can try on another iOS phone or macbook to see if it still happens. It might just be how you setup your devices.
