• After upgrading to V14, I started getting this error

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Undefined constant ‘DB_CHARSET’ in /chroot/home/theprav/abcde.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/initializers/database-setup.php:110 Stack trace: #0 /chroot/home/theprav/abcde.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/initializers/database-setup.php(52): Yoast\WP\SEO\Initializers\Database_Setup->get_connection_string() #1 /chroot/home/theprav/abcde.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/loader.php(145): Yoast\WP\SEO\Initializers\Database_Setup->initialize() #2 /chroot/home/theprav/abcde.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/loader.php(111): Yoast\WP\SEO\Loader->load_initializers() #3 /chroot/home/theprav/abcde.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/main.php(81): Yoast\WP\SEO\Loader->load() #4 /chroot/home/theprav/abcde.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/functions.php(26): Yoast\WP\SEO\Main->load() #5 /chroot/home/theprav/abcde.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo-main.php(346): YoastSEO in /chroot/home/theprav/abcde.com/html/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/src/initializers/database-setup.php on line 110

    I was able to login via recovery and disable the plugin.

    FYI, on 2 sites where I upgraded. One was successful.

    Thank you @joostdevalk

    We are still stuck with this issue. We have tried removing the plugin all together then installing again the new 14.0.1 version but still getting the error. Do we need to clear all yoast entries in the database first then install again?

    @gavpedz, as a temporary fix, I edited the Yoast plugin folder name from /wordpress-seo/ to /Xwordpress-seo/ and that cleared the error messages.

    Indeed I have renamed our plugin folder as well but how are we to get past this so we can run the plugin again. 14.0.1 was supposed to fix this issue but doesn’t seem so on our end. Tried going back to 14.0.0 then update but no luck tried also going back to version 13. then update but no luck as soon as 14.0.1 is installed we get the error.
