Error message: Trying to get property of non-object in /wp-includes/nav-menu.php

  • The menu was working fine until I added a couple of new pages to it today and now it gives me the message:

    Trying to get property of non-object in /wp-includes/nav-menu.php

    I have no idea how this has occurred.

    Chrome dev tools shows the following for this error:

    Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property ‘parentNode’ of undefined setup.js:8
